Jake was raised in Springville, Utah. He was a graduate of Springville High School in 1995. He attended Utah Valley State College, and Mesa State College in Grand Junction, as a student Athlete. In 1999 Jake was a 19th round draft pick of the San Diego Padres. He played baseball in various parts of the country over a 3 year period as a professional baseball player. In 2005 Jake moved to Cortez and was employed as a funeral director at a local mortuary. And recently became an owner at Wynes Insurance Agency. Becoming a dad is his greatest accomplishment. His son Kaden was born in 2007. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, mountain biking, and spending time with those close to him.
